[이희원 기자] 20일로 예정되 그리스 의회의 신규 긴축안 표결을 앞두고 그리스 노동계가 총파업을 선언해 국가 기능이 사실상 마비 상태 국면에 빠졌다. 이로써 그리스 디폴트(채무불이행)가 현실화 가능성이 높아졌다.

AP통신에 따르면 그리스 노동계가 17일 항만 노조의 파업을 시작으로 전 노동계가 파업에 돌입했으며 이미 도심 기능이 마비된 상태라도 보도했다. 정부기관의 상당수도 파업에 들어가 그리스 정부가 해당 공무원들에게 ‘긴급 동원령’을 내리며 복귀를 촉구했다. 

또한 언론 노조 역시 파업을 선언,뉴스 보도 일체가 올스톱된 상태로 지난 금융위기 이후 가장 큰 규모의 파업이 예상되고 있다.

게오르기 파판드레우 총리가 디폴트를 피하기위한 강구책으로 추가 구제금융인 80억 유로 지원을 받기 위해 긴축안을 의회에 상정했으나 노동계 파업과 시위로 국가 위기에 직면해 새로운 위기에 봉착했다. 

그리스 노동계의 파업과 시위는 20일 의회의 세금 인상과 임금 삭감 및 공무원 감축긴축안 등의 긴축재정안 표결을 앞두고 국민의 반발이 거세진 가운데 20일 파업은 절정에 치달을 것으로 전망된다.

한편 이번 그리스 사태가 위기에 봉착해 있는 세계경제에도 적지않은 영향일 미칠 것이라는 전망도 나오고 있다.
